Abstract

The study aimed at revealing the formation system of artist Mahmoud taha works of ceramics by examining place, characters and ceramics components in his works. This research came in three chapters: the First presented the introduction, study problem and aim. The research was determined by studying the representation of the formation systems of  his works(wall painting, circular shapes and ceramic carving) through a sample of (10) of his works; the second chapter included the theoretical frame which examined the artist's style where he used the method of circular shapes and rectangular shapes in his works, through which he combined abstract geometrical formations, He also dealt with the components of heritage ceramics in order to be in conformity with Arabic script with its types (AL-thuluth, AL-naskh and AL-Kufi). He dealt with the presence of characters with different features of the variety of movement and stability of the painting components. In the case of colors, he used black, white, red, blue and earth colors with Various gradations as they refer to land, home and loyalty, and the third chapter included the research results which showed that Palestinian ceramics had its concepts from real facts, human heritage and Islamic heritage. The potter had an alternate role of choosing either the functional purpose or the aesthetic one or a combination of both. The methods of internal formation were various where the successive Arabic letter, Palestinian symbols, such as the Dome of the Rock, characteristics and their repetition and heritage ceramics were used.
